Past Goals

Each common year, Sekhet-Maat Lodge prepares an annual report to the Electoral College. This report requires us to specify any goals that we have for the year in a number of key areas. We have had many goals each year. Below is a listing of the goals we had for 2006 ev, along with regular updates indicating status. To see rough drafts of goals for next year, see: Talk:Goals

2006 e.v. Goals

  1. Plan an annual business meeting intended for the whole of the membership.
    • Done. Meeting was held (May 5 2006 ev). A number of areas for improvement were identified for next year. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
  2. Raise 80% of regular expenses though dues and pledges alone.
    • Not there yet. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • Treasurer reported at October Lodge meeting that since January we have raised 79 point something percent of our Temple-related operating expenses with dues and pledges alone. --Fr. HydraLVX 04:51, 8 October 2006 (EDT)
    • October report was originally miscalculated. Actual self-sufficiency ratio was closer to 65%. October income, however, was substantial and brought the ratio up to 75%. To make our goal by the end of the year, we will have to bring in $2300 before Jan. 1, in dues and pledges alone. This does not seem likely. --Fr. HydraLVX 05:05, 6 November 2006 (EST)
    • November report erases last month's gains and practically guarantees we have not accomplished this goal. We do anticipate a substantial increase in December, but this will probably not be enough to get us to 80%. We will raise dues on Winter Solstice to $35 per month, which we predict will lead to self-sufficiency. More to come on this subject. --Fr. HydraLVX 21:14, 7 December 2006 (EST)
    • December is not yet over, but we did indeed show substantial improvement, a particularly good sign since most of the dues payments were just monthly payments and not catch-up or pay-in-advance. This will not likely be enough of an increase, however, to reach our overall goal for the year. --Fr. HydraLVX 20:29, 18 December 2006 (EST)
    • Final self-sufficiency for the year was 72%. --Fr. HydraLVX 23:43, 4 February 2007 (EST)
  3. Improve exterior paint and window treatments.
    • Research in progress. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • Exterior paint will probably cost over $100. Estimates of window treatment at this time are around $200. We only have $200 left in the improvement fund, so we hope to raise the extra funds before the year is out. --Fr. HydraLVX 04:51, 8 October 2006 (EDT)
    • Lower-than-anticipated funding was due to interior painting for the classroom being higher priority, and the costs for that project were ~$200. --Fr. HydraLVX 02:17, 11 October 2006 (EDT)
    • Window treatments in progress. We are now raising money to accomplish the exterior paint project, which will cost closer to $200. --Fr. HydraLVX 05:05, 6 November 2006 (EST)
    • Window treatments in progress. Exterior paint out of reach; we had to buy a new stove today. Will try again next year. --Fr. HydraLVX 06:16, 14 November 2006 (EST)
    • Window treatments done. It looks great and has the added bonus of improving insulation and acoustics. Exterior paint will get done sooner than anticipated in the last update, but still not by the end of the year. We had an unexpected contribution which will pay for this. Will shoot for first quarter of next year. --Fr. HydraLVX 20:29, 18 December 2006 (EST)
  4. Revamp website for distributed editing.
    • In progress. Next step is to provide a class for main users on using wiki. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • One other user is making regular updates to the site. Nearly all the old content has been moved. Special Events page is already redirecting to the wiki. We will finalize Standing Rules before rollout. --Fr. HydraLVX 04:51, 8 October 2006 (EDT)
    • Done. --Fr. HydraLVX 21:14, 7 December 2006 (EST)
  5. Increase frequency of journal publication.
    • We are on track to complete this. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • Technically done, because the last two issues were closer together (increased frequency) and we will have a third issue in this volume (last volume was only two), but we had the same number of issues during this vulgar year as last year: two. So this is a qualified success. We have also had two color cover issues in a row—a major accomplishment in its own right. --Fr. HydraLVX 06:16, 14 November 2006 (EST)
    • The above assumed we were going to have another issue by the end of December, which may or may not happen. Nevertheless we should have three issues in the volume. --Fr. HydraLVX 20:29, 18 December 2006 (EST)
    • It looks like we may only have two issues for this volume. At this stage I think we can't really consider this goal to have been accomplished. --Fr. HydraLVX 23:43, 4 February 2007 (EST)
  6. Improve E.G.C. Training program.
    • Done. The program has grown to include a section for participants to walk through the parts in temple with feedback from experienced clergy. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
  7. Improve initiation equipment.
    • Done. Initiation equipment has been improved significantly. Further details cannot be shared with the public. We can't wait to show you, so if you don't know ask! --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
  8. Get additional chartered initiators.
    • Done. One new initiator has been chartered, and three more are in the process of application. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • Two down, two to go. --Fr. HydraLVX 05:05, 6 November 2006 (EST)
    • The two new initiators execrcised their charters last weekend at Midnight at the Oasis. --Fr. HydraLVX 06:16, 14 November 2006 (EST)
    • One more initiator just heard that her application was approved. That makes four for the year, putting us back at last year's levels of active initiators. Done. --Fr. HydraLVX 20:29, 18 December 2006 (EST)
  9. Improve initiation training.
    • Done. Completely revamped training program to essentially consist of a full exemplification of the degree. Further detail can be found at: Initiation Training --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
  10. Increase frequency of member-written ritual performance.
    • Believe this is done. Will have to do a count, but we have had a lot of original ritual this year. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • No question, it is done. See below. --Fr. HydraLVX 02:17, 11 October 2006 (EDT)
    • Original Rituals in 2006 ev:
      • March 18: Spring Equinox rite by Fr. Khabs Kaos
      • June 6 (6/6/6): THE BEAST UNLEASHED! by Fr. Zir
      • June 24: Summer Solstice rite by Fr. Khabs Kaos and Sr. N.K.
      • August 12: Feast for the First Night of the Prophet and His Bride, ritual by Sr. Aletheia Mnemonicas
      • September 22: Autumn Equinox Reap ritual by Sr. Aletheia Mnemonicas
      • September 29: First Degree Mystery Project by Sr. Aletheia Mnemonicas
    • Original Rituals in 2005 ev:
      • June 18: Summer Solstice rite by Fr. Khabs Kaos
      • September 24: Autumn Equinox / 11th Anniversary of SML, ritual by Sr. A.R.G.M. and Fr. Micque
  11. Shift purpose of fund-raising to improvements rather than paying bills.
    • Done. No "rent-raisers" have been held so far this year. --Hydralvx 07:55, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
    • Additionally, Standing Rules have been changed (effective at Winter Solstice) to increase local dues for self-sufficiency, so that we can continue to use our "extra funds" for "extra projects" rather than paying the rent. --Fr. HydraLVX 06:16, 14 November 2006 (EST)
