Lodge dues schedule
- Affiliate & Member
- $540 per year.
Affiliation Benefits
- Attendance at regular events
- All Affiliates are entitled to attend regular Lodge events (such as celebrations of the Gnostic Mass, classes, initiations of their degree, etc.).
- Initiation
- All Affiliates, and all qualified persons living more than 100 travel miles from the Lodge, are entitled to take and attend initiation at the Lodge, according to the regulations and customs of the Order. Minerval through Third Degree initiations are offered on a quarterly basis. Fourth and Perfect Initiate Degree initiations are offered on a semi-annual basis.
- Initiation Fee Waiver
- All Affiliates are entitled to a waiver of the $10.00 Lodge initiation fee.
- Discounts on attendance at special events
- All Affiliates are entitled to discounts on the admission price to special events hosted by the Lodge whenever there is an admission fee (fundraisers, special theatrical/ritual productions, special guest speaker engagements, etc.).
- Lion & Serpent subscription
- All Affiliates receive a subscription to Sekhet-Maat Lodge's journal, Lion & Serpent, free of charge.
- Lodge library privileges
- All Affiliates are entitled to borrow circulating volumes from the Lodge library.
- Personal Temple use
- All Affiliates are entitled to periodically schedule blocks of available time at the Temple for personal magickal practice, study, etc., free of charge.
- Private group Temple use
- All Affiliates are entitled to occasionally schedule blocks of available time at the Temple for private group events (such as weddings), free of charge.

- Members are entitled to a free email address on the sekhetmaat.com domain. Email can be checked via a web browser, or an email client can be used to download mail.
- Eligibility for office
- All Members are eligible to assume ongoing responsibility (e.g., as a committee chairperson, trainer, coordinator, or ritual roles such as those in mass, initiation and other rituals.), subject to approval by the Master or their delegate.
Financial Hardship
- In the event of temporary financial hardship, Members and Affiliates may make private arrangements, to be reviewed every six months, to contribute on a sliding scale.
- Sliding scale contributions shall be arranged by direct consultation with the Master, or through any member of the Executive Committee acting as the Master’s delegate.
Lodge Meetings
- The Lodge shall hold regular meetings at least once very quarter at the call of the Master, with at least 30 days notice to the affiliates and members of the Lodge. Notice shall include the meeting date, time and location.
- The Master may call special meetings as necessary with at least 3 days notice to the members of the lodge.
- The Master may call officers' meetings as necessary.
- Important decisions and major transactions conducted as such meetings should be recorded in the Lodge minutes and kept with the Lodge records.
Attendance Policies
Event Categories
The following terms are used to define the attendance policy per event:
- Invitation Only
- Open only to those individuals involved in the event; closed to anyone not explicitly invited.
- Degree Restricted
- Sekhet-Maat Lodge Members and initiate Affiliates, and active initiates living more than 100 travel miles from the Lodge, of the specified degree or above, may attend.
- Members Only
- Sekhet-Maat Lodge Members and Affiliates, and initiates and laity living more than 100 travel miles from the Lodge, may attend.
- Members and Guests
- Open to Sekhet-Maat Lodge Members and Affiliates, and their guests; and initiates and laity living more than 100 travel miles from the Lodge.
- Public
- Anyone may attend the event; no member sponsorship required. The Lodge Master reserves the right to refuse attendance to any member of the public.
Children
Sekhet-Maat Lodge welcomes children to attend and participate in our public activities with the informed consent of their parents. Interested parents should therefore first discuss their child's attendance with the Lodge Master.
Duties delegated to the Secretary
- Maintain a valid contact address for the Lodge, and keep the Editor of the Magickal Link, the Electoral College, the Grand Treasurer General and the Grand Secretary General appraised of any changes in address,
- Maintain an accurate record of the proceedings of all meetings of the Lodge,
- With the Master, prepare and distribute the agenda for each meeting,
- Track unfinished business,
- Duly process all initiation paperwork in accordance with the instructions from the O.T.O. U.S.A. Initiation Secretary,
- Keep a current copy of these Standing Rules, the Bylaws of Sekhet-Maat Lodge, the Bylaws of Ordo Templi Orientis U.S.A., the U.S. Camp, Oasis and Lodge Master’s Handbook, the U.S. Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica Manual, and applicable official policy memoranda available for study by all initiate members and affiliates of the Lodge.
Duties delegated to the Treasurer
- Pick up and appropriately dispose of official Lodge mail in a timely fashion under the direction of the Master,
- Keep such permanent books of account and records as shall be sufficient to establish the items of gross income, receipts and disbursements of the Lodge, including specifically, all dues and fees collected from the affiliates and members and the amount of dues remitted to the G.T.G. Such books of account and records shall at all reasonable times be open to inspection by an authorized representative of the G.T.G.
- Receive all moneys for the Lodge, giving a receipt therefor, and deposit immediately in the name of the Lodge in the Lodge’s designated bank account,
- Receive and retain a copy of the deposit slip for any deposit made,
- Remit all moneys collected on behalf of the O.T.O. U.S.A. to the G.T.G.,
- Pay all bills as authorized by the Master,
- Keep an accurate record of receipts and disbursements in a ledger which is a permanent record of the Lodge,
- Present a statement of account, and any other financial reports as requested by the Master, at every general meeting of the Lodge, and at other times when requested by the Master or the G.T.G.,
- Be responsible for filling out and forwarding all necessary report forms required by the G.T.G. for insurance and for filing all tax returns and other forms required by government agencies,
- Make a quarterly report to the G.T.G., which includes gross receipts and disbursements and reconciled statements of the Lodge’s bank account(s) for the period.
Standing Committees
Executive Committee
- Consists of the Lodge Master, Deputy Master, Secretary, and Treasurer.
- Other Members of the Lodge may attend as deemed necessary by the Master, e.g., to report to the committee or as a part of training for one of the Executive offices.
- Meetings shall be held monthly as needed and scheduled by the committee chairperson.
Initiation Committee
- Coordinates all aspects of initiation including acquisition or creation of regalia, filing of paperwork, etc. as directed by the Lodge Secretary according to the policies of O.T.O. U.S.A. and Sekhet-Maat Lodge.
- Coordinates a quarterly program of initiatory education for aspiring initiation officers and initiators.
- All members of Sekhet-Maat Lodge who are chartered initiators are members of the Initiation Committee ex officio.
- Committee members may also be appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings are held quarterly.
E.G.C. Program Committee
- Coordinates a quarterly program of ecclesiastical education for aspiring E.G.C. clergy.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Gnostic Mass Committee
- Schedules all performances of the Gnostic Mass.
- All members of Sekhet-Maat Lodge who are ordained clergy are members of the Gnostic Mass Committee ex officio.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Education Committee
- Schedules all classes and fora, soliciting volunteer educators and facilitators from the membership.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Hospitality Committee
- Coordinates the provision of food at events.
- Coordinate hospitality for visiting brethren and guest speakers to include impromptu social events, local lodging, and transportation.
- Coordinate social events to welcome friends and family of members to the lodge.
- Serve to welcome members relocating to the Valley by helping them to integrate into the community and assist them in becoming familiar with the policies and procedures of the Lodge.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Special Events Committee
- Coordinates the celebration of Thelemic holidays, large fundraising events, and speaker and VIP engagements.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Publication Committee
- Coordinates all publication and printing projects undertaken by the Lodge.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Internet Committee
- Maintains the Lodge website and coordinates the creation and management of any other internet infrastructure (such as databases, e-mail lists, etc.) needed by the Lodge.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Facilities Maintenance Committee
- Coordinates regular cleaning of the Lodge, regular maintenance, and any special improvements.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
Library Committee
- Coordinates the acquisition of new materials for the Lodge Library, including acquisition, organization, cataloging, and management of circulation, reference, research and multimedia materials.
- Committee members are appointed by the committee chair on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
- Meetings may be held occasionally as needed, at the discretion of the committee chair.
