On October 17, 2008 ev we embarked on two major projects: painting and recarpeting the office. The photos below show the progress of these. Sr. Morgana led the refurbishment project with help from: Fr. Pangloss (glue-spreader/carpet adherant expert), Sr. F. (nail-puller/getaway driver), Fr. K. (king of trim/historian of obscure paint names), Sr. Διοτιμα (goddess of new life for bathrooms), Fr. IOI (cutter of carpet/threshold specialist), and special kudos to Fr. Jacques (ladder acrobat/cello music wizard)
Painting
We chose two light shades of green. This has made the room feel brighter, and it also brightens the yellow in the kitchen. The slightly darker shade begins at about 10' from the floor.
On the day of the refurbishment, the bathroom was also painted with the same colors. The increased brightness of lighter paint has given the bathroom a cleaner feel.
Recarpeting
Fr. Peredur found a great discount on remnant carpeting. We got some very high quality carpet for less than $200, and a bucket of adhesive to put it down with.
