On December 29th at Sekhet-Maat Lodge, Mr. Gunther will present two lectures to the public:

“Mend Me This Shoe, That I May Walk” is an introductory lecture utilizing the 5 Powers of the Sphinx as its framework. It is an admonition to follow the Path of the Great Work.

“No Name Among Men” is a more advanced lecture that is about the A.’.A.’. and Thelema. It also has a strong message considering that the Supreme Chiefs are attempting a new experiment in this Aeon—two distinct methods of attainment—one embodied in the A.’.A.’. and another embodied in the O.T.O. This lecture includes actual photographs of A.’.A.’. Initiates wearing the Robes of the Grades, from Probationer up to Magister Templi. It is a first in that regard.

The first lecture will begin promptly at 3pm, the second at 7pm. There will be a meal break from 5pm-7pm. Doors open thirty minutes before each lecture.

Sekhet-Maat Lodge is pleased to announce its 2012ev Vulgar New Year’s Celebration ~ “A Night With Nuit” this December 31, 2012. The evening’s festivities will include a sumptious buffet feast, (including offerings for vegetarian, vegan, and paleo guests), a carefully-selected wine bar featuring complementary pairings for all main dishes, gorgeous decorations, dancing under our disco ball, and toasting in the New Year with a glass of bubbly.

From 7pm to 10pm, the Lodge will host our Vulgar New Year’s Eve Buffet and Wine Bar. Tickets for this special event are $20.00 per member and $25.00 per non-member for the Buffet, and $15.00 per member and $20.00 per non-member for the Wine Bar. Persons purchasing a Wine Bar ticket will drink free-of-charge for the rest of the evening. Tickets for this portion of the evening will be sold on a first-come/first-served basis to SML members and their guests only, and will be strictly limited to an attendence of 30 persons. All tickets must be purchased in advance, as no tickets will be sold at the door. Reserve your ticket early!

For the second half of the evening, beginning at 10pm, the Lodge will offer free dancing and merriment to SML members and their guests, with a free bubbly toast at midnight! No ticket purchase is required to enjoy these festivities. A Cash Bar featuring wines, beer, and complementary non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Saturday, December 15 2012: Aleister Crowley and the Secret Lover (10am-3pm)

The Secret Lover is the true object of our devotion. In the Western Magical Tradition the Secret Lover is called the Holy Guardian Angel, and ecstatic union with HGA is the first great magical and initiatory crisis. Join Lon Milo DuQuette as he talks about Aleister Crowley and the Secret Lover, and shares his insights as how you might fall in love with your Secret Lover.

Sunday, December 16 2012: The Supreme Secret of the Gnostic Mass (10am-1pm)

Liber XV, The Mass of the Gnostic Catholic Church, is the ritualized enactment of the O.T.O.’s supreme magical secret. In order for all to participate directly in the magical formulae of Mass, the ceremony must be faithfully representat the Supreme Secret — and it takes only a slight change of focus on the part of the ritual team or congregation to neutralize that formulae, and degenerate the Mass from a ceremony of the religion of the future to a ritual that merely exalts the spiritual formulae of the past.

Join Archbishop Lon Milo DuQuette as he examines the nature of the Supreme Secret and explains the Mass in light of the Secret (instead of making you guess the Secret in light of the Mass!). You may be very surprised by what you hear.

There is a suggested contribution of $5.00 to help cover the cost of renting and maintaining our temple facility.

Mark your calendars for a very special weekend with OTO veteran and esteemed author James Wasserman. The founder of Tahuti Lodge (NYC) and a key figure in the publication of Aleister Crowley’s works and the Thoth Tarot, Mr. Wasserman’s account of the OTO’s early years and insights into Solomon’s temple are sure to sate and inspire a curiosity… or twelve!

Doors open at 7:30pm for both events. There will be substantial appetizers available and a wine and beer cash bar.

Friday, August 24th

Join us on Friday, August 24th as Mr. Wasserman discusses his memoir In the Center of the Fire (Ibis Press, 2012), the founding of Tahuti Lodge, his pivotal role in the magical battle between Grady McMurtry and Marcelo Motta, the legal battle for Aleister Crowley’s literary estate, and more!

This event is open to the public and will offer a Wine and Beer cash bar as well as a selection of appetizers. James will be available after the presentation for questions and for signing books that will be available for purchase.

Saturday, August 25th

On Saturday, August 25th, Mr. Wasserman delves into Solomon’s temple – its spiritual signifance, its role in Templar history, and its place the mysteries of Freemasonry, as detailed in his book The Temple of Solomon: From Ancient Israel to Secret Societies (Inner Traditions, 2011). This presentation has been given in Masonic Lodges around the country to great reviews.

This event is open to the public and will offer a Wine and Beer cash bar as well as a selection of appetizers. James will be available after the presentation for questions and for signing books that will be available for purchase.

A cash bar will be open before and after the ritual, featuring fine wines and microbrews from the Northwest and beyond. Please plan on staying after the ritual for fellowship, conversation and dancing.

We will have a social hour beginning at 7:30pm, followed by the
installation of the Body Master and her officers and the honoring of
our new Past Master, Geoff.

Wrapping up the evening will be a Bacchanalia ritual for the community
to let their hair down and celebrate.

We will have plenty of food, a cash bar for beer and wine and plenty
of fellowship for all.

All initiates and friends of the temple are welcome to join our
community to celebrate this change.

Synopsis

Twin sisters, Beatrice and Zoe, are in love with Ray, a bank robbing hypnotist driven by visions of the end the world. Though Beatrice and Ray are married, Ray runs off with free-spirited Zoe and hides out in a motel after a bank heist where they plot their future dreams together. Meanwhile, Beatrice files for divorce as two enigmatic entities from the Bardo interzones take interest in their fates in Antero Alli’s outlaw romance noir film, a heady cocktail chaser of crime, metaphysics, and amour fou.

Director Bio

ANTERO ALLI has written and directed ten feature-length fiction films (since 1993) which have toured the west coast arthouse circuit (and are now available on dvd). Though his underground movies have never seen wide theatrical release (“I don’t have a mainstream bone in my body”), they continue garnering critical praise for their originality, insight, and depth of imagination. Antero is also an author of numerous metaphysical books and founder / director of ParaTheatrical ReSearch (since 1977), a center for group ritual work in Berkeley CA where he resides with his wife, singer/composer Sylvi Alli.
