Change of Priority

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

An address to the members and friends of the Lodge, from Lodge Master NThLMKMNRG:

Cari Fratres, Sorores, et Amici,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Now that we have done a lot of the maintenance and improvement projects which had been long overdue, and as we now have many promulgation efforts sitting on the back burner, and as we continue to struggle to maintain sustainable levels of self-sufficiency, we have determined that a shift in spending priorities is in order.

As some of you have heard, we’re going to put promulgation and savings at the top of our financial priorities list, while obviously keeping temple and consumable expenses up there as well. Apart from those essential overhead expenses, all spending will be directed toward promulgation efforts. There are, however, a few projects already in progress which will still be completed, and some projects (such as Lion & Serpent, and adding to our Rainy Day Fund) that are in line with these new priorities and will continue to receive funding as before.

The following projects will continue:
- IV/PI Widget (in progress, money spent)
- Rainy Day Fund deposit (in accord with new priorities)
- Exterior painting (in progress, money spent)
- Audio System (in progress, money spent)
- L&S XII:iii (in line with new priorities)

The following projects will be tabled until a future time when our
financial picture is looking more robust:
- Small Altar
- Art Hanging
- Temple Lights

Future income from events and sales will be used primarily to add to our savings and to print materials such as Lion & Serpent, postcards and booklets for promulgation efforts. Other emergent needs will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Love is the law, love under will.

In the Bonds of the Order,
and Fraternally Yours,
Fr. NThLMKMNRG
